The electricians have been hard at work, followed closely by the plastering team. Here we can see progress in one of the upstairs rooms - note its wonderful original fireplace.

We welcome back Kent-based interior designer Julia Laidlaw who worked with The Victoria on the successful refurbishment project in 2013. Julia is working with project manager, Johanna Tennant on the designs of the ten new rooms at Ancient House which will all be styled individually and furnished with a mix of contemporary and antique peices of furniture.

 

Taking us back to the 50s

 

The latest discovery, (on the left of the photo),  layers of wallpaper in the upstairs rooms, some of it dating back to the 50s we guess, but becoming popular again.
