We're letting you know what's happening

Screening the site in style!

The heras fencing has been screened with some stylish graphics which tell the story of the redevelopment project.

A peek inside the building

The ground floor inside

The ground floor has been gutted and unrecognisable from its previous layout.

A potted history!

Some history about the building

The Ancient House was saved and renovated when much of Holkham village was demolished and rebuilt in the 1880s. The architect was Zephaniah King of London. The bay windows on the front and the Tudor chimney stacks, made in the estate brick works, are from this date.

The start of the project in June 2014

Work begins early June 2014

The redevelopment gets off to a start in early June as Robsons Contractors move in and work begins inside the building.

An exciting new phase for Ancient House

The Rose Garden Cafe formerly occupied part of Ancient House
On 2nd June 2014 the Rose Garden Cafe and gallery 'Art Fair' closed to make way for the start of an exciting new project at Ancient House with the redevelopment of the building into ten new bedrooms for The Victoria at Holkham.
